Please fasten your seat belts and prepare yourselves for James Coviello’s wild ride. James Coviello’s Fall 2012 collection in one word is “Inspired”. Known for his use of bold fashion colors and prints, James pulls out all the stops for this collection – Mod mini dresses, sexy maxi dresses, and even a chic cigarette pant. Add a splash of bright coral and electric yellow and you’ve got a formula for classic high fashion.
Renowned for hats, original prints, sophisticated knitwear, and an artistic point-of-view, James Coviello caters to the woman who is inspired by decorative arts and finds adventure in design. From travel to literature, visual arts to interiors, her tastes are bold, contemporary and refined. She appreciates James Coviello’s romantic, playful, witty approach to fashion.
James Coviello tells a story in every collection. When I look at this collection I see a story about a woman who is secure enough to make a statement and daring enough to make it while wearing neon yellow lace! James is obviously trying to take us back to the late 60’s and 70’s with this one. I feel the bold rebellion of the so-so “Mod Chick” with the acidic neon colors, high necklines and swing hem lines and the airy carefree “Flower Power” in his maxi dresses, light weight blouses and scattered prints. But he balances the collection with more modern fitted pieces that today’s woman can identify with; which is the true genius of all of his collections.
