There’s a saying, “The best ideas are thought of on the toilet.” In the case of Indie brand “Moodie Tuesday”, this quote may hold a bit of truth. After suffering a wretched Tuesday of food poisoning, Jon Thom decided to launch a line of T-shirts showcasing his latest artwork. Ironically labeled, “Moodie Tuesday”. Gathering inspiration from the tales of rock & roll and Hollywood dreams, designers Chris Brun, Mackenzie Taiaroa and Jon Thom goal is to make tees that reflect a lifestyle of carefree idealism and to build a community of people who live in this way.
Shifting original artwork from canvas to a cotton tee has proven to be very popular for the brand and the production of limited runs has only fueled the fire.
About Moodie Tuesday:
The boutique label was originally founded in 2010 by Jon Thom, friend Chris Brun later joined the fold in 2012. The Central Otago boys, now based in Dunedin, New Zealand, shared a common passion for art, music and vision for the label. They saw the opportunity to fuse their passion for art and tee-shirts. The pair had no formal training, just a passion for creating tees that represent confidence, courage and an air of mystery.
