Legend has is that if you are good the fashion Gods will bless you. In Dallas if we mind our Pantones, study Vogue magazine very hard and if we’re extra good, we are blessed with another year of health fashion crop. Well Dallas, we must have been good because the Pin Show is back! EEEEEEEE! Okay that’s all pure nonsense but the Pin Show is in fact right around the corner. Let’s take a look at what’s in store.
Miramor Boutique summed up in 4 words – one stop BOMBSHELL SHOP. This is a designer who gets how to dress the body conscience woman without sacrificing class. Maybe one more word – Gorgeous.
I have never seen dancewear done quite like Alate. To me, this is high fashion clothing that you can also move in. You know, say you’re at a fancy lounge in Uptown and a flash mob breaks out – You’re ready!
Well hello again Folksie. We meet again. Envynde remembers your care free, effortless, impeccable threads from the last Pin Show we attended. I remember being awestruck by the styling and the construction detail. Oh yes… I remember.
If a biker chick and an outlaw had a fashion baby, t’would wear Wonders by Candace McKenna Collins. Candice has successfully crossbred a vintage feel with today’s hottest trends.
Another blast from Pin Show’s past – CarmenIris. Carmin, if I were a betting woman I wager that this year your models will be curvacious ladies, rocking trendsetting frocks, with bold accents… Let’s see if I’m right. We’re lookin’ for ya, Carmin!
When I look at Shallamar I am oddly propelled back to my youth; playing with my Barbie dolls. And I’m dressing them in super chic outfits for a Hollywood partyyyy, or a red carpet event, or a photoshoot. If I had a closet full of Shallamar then I could be Barbie; and every week would be fashion week. *sigh*
I more than kinda love the way LaLa combines Bollywood and the Roaring 20’s. I don’t even know if that was the intention but you can’t deny the feeling LaLa invokes! You know you’re fighting the urge to shimmy right into the Charlston…
Elle Luxx has such a fresh approach to swimwear. I’m first enchanted by the intergalactic, stained glassy, kaleidoscopie print. But the variety Elle Luxx offers is what wins my heart; from high waist to low rise and tiny halters to full coverage bra tops.
When I clicked on the link that led me to the Flawless Honey website, within seconds a light bulb totally went off: “Ohhhhh ‘Flawless Honey‘ I get iiiiit!” Because when you wear this stuff that is what people will say as they snap their fingers and nod in approval as you walk by. YAAAAAAAAS!
Man! So many of you this year are weaving such unexpected influences together; like how Karen Alistair mashed up a little samurai / medieval action. I have no idea what kinds of shenanigans to expect at the Pin Show. Ready to have my mind blown either way.
Is anyone else thinking Janet Jackson secretly spawned a love child who then grew up and became a bad a** designer? Whew! The edge on Erica Dawn Woodmore, LLC cuts light a knife! It reads part “VIP coming through!” and part “I will cut yew.” I’m smitten (and mildly intimidated).
Christian Allana has some how figured out how to successfully bridge that gap between couture and ready to wear. Show stopper after show stopper with this one. So tastefully done, you get that avant-garde without the Halloween costume vibe.
You know how you wanna look like a trend setter but don’t want to look like you tried too hard? Then wear this stuff. De’ by De’Vaun Robinson is this line of effortless streetwear that you can rock anywhere the cool kids congregate. (Don’t ask me where that is. I’m not cool.) Thank you Jamel HAWK for remembering that there is still a guy who just wants a t-shirt. As a designer myself it’s tempting to only look ahead and design for the future but Jamel HAWK is a line that today’s guy would wear – great staples with just the right amount of personality.
Jesse Thaxton is still at it bringin’ that Steam Punk Funk we love to love. Melancholic Design is still gut punching you with the out-of-the-box designs you can’t find anywhere else. Jesse, I might be most excited to see what you offer this year at the Pin Show.
Taking the old and making it fabulous again is what Stoner Drive is all about. This line of re-purposed threads offers an earth friendly option to the fashion forward girl. I say if you can keep a garment out of a landfill and look this good, then do it, Stoner Drive!
Wendistry is just prettyyyy. She designs a line of ladylike hand panted jeans for ladies of high society; each mosaic print more chic than the last. This is definitely a line for the uber feminine lady who wants to see and be seen.
Yomono is by far the most versatile line in the show this year. I seriously just don’t know what to expect. Will it be a pencil skirt with suspenders? Will it be a caftan? Where they stop, nobody knows! *biting nails*
Jake Rosenhoover… not real sure what’s going on here but you’ve got my attention. I can’t look directly at this video, you know, cuz it’s a tad unsettling, but all jokes aside – the fashion is right on. Can’t wait to see more from you at the Pin Show.
Well that’s more than half of what you have to look forward to, not to mention: Commecci, Jae Ládi, Noble Elizabeth. If this post hasn’t made you squeal with excitement… check your pulse! IT’S PIN SHOW TIME BABY! Be sure to PURCHASE YOUR TICKETS HERE and look for Cookie and Brandon this year at the Pin Show Dallas 2016!
